This experienced transportation individual will build on their skills by learning the day to day operations, policies, procedures, and best practices of our Transportation Manager position. They will learn the "McLane way" under the mentorship of an experienced McLane Transportation Manager. Upon completion of their training program and the availability of a position, the Designate may be required to relocate to another McLane division with an open position.Summary of Duties: Lead the entire Transportation team to ensure that daily objectives are met and customer expectations for on-time delivery of undamaged product are exceeded every time. Lead our truck-delivery operations and coach Driver Supervisors and/or Dispatchers in operational, routing, staffing, and DOT compliance objectives. Interact daily with McLane CDL Drivers to understand their needs and concerns and provide support and solutions for their continued success. Oversee a Transportation Shop to ensure that all equipment is kept in a clean and well-maintained working order. Drive KPI’s for cost savings, manpower, equipment utilization and compliance with all DOT regulations. Direct all transportation department P&L planning and execution. Model McLane Beliefs and Values and be a culture champion to lead Drivers and Dispatchers in their interactions with customers, other teammates, and Distribution Center staff. | ||||
